In the 21st century, the closest you can come to the old-school Haight Street shopping experience is in the Mission. The big shopping street with the coolest stuff is definitely Valencia Street, which has all the best thrift shops and funky stuff.
On Castro Street, shopping is sexy. Whether you want toys or leather, fetish or lace, or just a pair of fabulous spike-heeled boots, you can find it in one of the racy shops found in the City’s notoriously “everything goes” district.
