Some diners prefer a little South American flare with their steak dinner. Espetus Churrascaria (1686 Market St., 415/552-8792, www.espetus.com, lunch Mon.–Thurs. 11 a.m.–3 p.m., Fri. 11:30 a.m.–3 p.m., and Sat.–Sun. noon–3 p.m., dinner Mon.–Thurs. 5–10 p.m., Fri.–Sat. 5–11 p.m., Sun. 4–9 p.m., $30–80) can give you all the fire you want and more.
Most of all, Espetus will give you meat. Lots of meat, both in quantity and variety. As much meat as you can handle, and more, until you wave a little flag of surrender to get the servers to stop bringing around the hot carts of meat carved to order. You’ll pay handsomely for the delectable privilege of stuffing yourself at Espetus, but if you love meat, it will be worth every penny.
