Churon Winery (33233 Rancho California Rd., 951/694-9070, www.innatchuronwinery.com, daily 10 a.m.–4:30 p.m., $10) brings a taste of classic French wine country to the Temecula Valley. This winery, built on an 11-acre estate in the style of a French chateau, also operates as a high-end inn — so you can stay and enjoy the wines all night long! But even if you’re not an overnight guest, you can sip the many Churon vintages in the tasting room each day.
With a list that encompasses many French-styled reds and classic California whites plus a few select dessert sweets (including an unusual-to-California sherry), Churon offers something for everyone — even folks who usually shun the heavy Cabs and buttery Chards of California’s wine regions.
