A perfect way to experience shopping in Mexico without making the trek down to Tijuana is to visit Old Town’s famed Bazaar del Mundo (4133 Taylor St., 619/296-3161, Sun.–Mon. 10 a.m.–5:30 p.m., Tues.–Sat. 10 a.m.–9 p.m.). Easily accessed from I-5 and I-8, this cheerful and colorful shopping center brings the best of Mexico across the border.
From the familiar figures in the Laurel Burch Gallerita to the unusual and often elegant imports of Artes, you’ll find perfect gifts for everyone on your list (and for yourself, of course).
