Seeing Stars

Have you come to California in the hopes of seeing a movie star—or at least some great movie history? Los Angeles can certainly hook you up. Start your quest in Hollywood. Catch a premiere at Grauman’s Chinese Theater and stroll along the Hollywood Walk of Fame. If you love rock stars too, grab tickets for a show at the Roxy or the Whisky A Go-Go along Sunset Strip.
Head out of Hollywood to take a spin up into the hills along Mulholland Drive, where several A-listers are known to live. You’ll probably have a better shot at actually seeing a star if you stroll down to Rodeo Drive and peer at the racks in Dior or Michael Kors.
Combine beachcombing with star-searching by taking a trip down the magnificent coastline, where many celebrities live—or at least hang out during downtime. Walk the beachside promenade of Venice Beach and see a few former homes of mega-stars. Or drive north along Highway 1 through legendary Malibu for a tour of the garages and back gates of favorite celebrities.
To vacation like the stars, head out into the desert to Palm Springs. Stay in the very rooms the film crew inhabited at A Place in the Sun, play golf on a championship course at Trilogy, or even pay homage to lost lights in the celebrity cemeteries.
