Cafe Brasil (1410 Mission St., 831/429-1855, www.cafebrasil.us, daily 8:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m., $10–20) serves up the Brazilian fare its name promises. Painted jungle green with bright yellow and blue trim, you can’t miss this totally Santa Cruz breakfast and lunch joint.
In the morning, the fare runs to omelets and ethnic specialties, while lunch includes pressed sandwiches, meat and tofu dishes, and Brazilian house specials. A juice bar provides rich but healthy meal accompaniments that can also act as light meals on their own.
To try something different, get an acia bowl—acia is a South American fruit—or an Amazon cherry juice and OJ blend.
