The small but pretty campground at Limekiln State Park (Hwy. 1 two miles south of Lucia, 831/667-2403, www.parks.ca.gov, summer only, $18) offers 33 campsites with hot showers and flush toilets out along an attractive creek that runs toward the nearby ocean. RVs and trailers can stay here (call for maximum length restrictions), though hookups and dump stations aren’t available.
In the summertime, the park recommends making reservations early. In the winter, no reservations are available and many sites are closed. Call for more information if you want to camp here in the off-season.
