Cumbuco
Trip Ideas
Popular Cumbuco offers endless activities on a palm-fringed beach. You can ride dune buggies, quadricycles, or horses through the sands, enjoy freshwater bathing in various lagoons, or take to the calm but murky ocean waters for kitesurfing, windsurfing, and jangada trips. If you’re feeling active, you’ll love the place. However, if it’s seclusion you’re after, the crowds and insistent vendors coaxing you to rent a boat, bike, or buggy will become tiresome.
Getting to Cumbuco
Cumbuco is only 35 kilometers (22 miles) west of Fortaleza. It is easily reached by van or by taking a bus operated by Vitória (tel. 85/3342-1148), which stops on Avenida Abolição in Meireles and Avenida Imperador in Centro.
