There are lots of hotels near the bus station as well as in the modern Centro. The nicely priced Pousada Dom Aquino (Rua Dom Aquino 1806, tel. 67/3382-9373, pousada_dom_aquino [at] hotmail [dot] com, R$60–80d) is a friendly relaxing place. The attractive rooms are decorated with Pantanal-themed artwork and there is a pleasant living area and courtyard garden to lounge around in.
Indaiá Park (Av. Afonso Pena 354, tel. 67/2106-1000, www.indaiahotel.com.br, R$105–145 d) gets raves for the orthopedic mattresses and goose down pillows in its sizable though somewhat soulless rooms. The decor in the rest of the hotel features lots of oddly colored tilework and ’80s furniture, but amenities are good—with a pool and Internet—as is the location.
If you want to treat yourself to a little bit of luxury, the Jandaia Hotel (Rua Barão Rio Branco 1271, tel. 67/3316-7700, www.jandaia.com.br, R$240–320 d) is as good as it gets. Rooms are large and comfortable though somewhat lacking in character, while the lobby and lounges are posh if rather dated. Amenities include a small pool, a fitness room, Internet access, and two quite swanky restaurants serving decent local and international fare.
