Brightside Guest Apartments (38 North Shore Rd., Flatts Village, tel. 441/292-8410, brightside [at] cwbda [dot] bm) have been a fixture of Flatts since 1979. The family-run property, owned by Willard and Michael Price, commands the southwest corner of so-called Lazy Corner—the busy junction of Middle Road, North Shore Road, and Harrington Sound Road—so tranquility is not its biggest drawing card. However, the guest units are cushioned by beautifully landscaped gardens, and there’s a large swimming pool in the center of the complex.
Units, all with basic decor, range from a room with double bed ($120) to a cottage accommodating four people ($340). All rooms have a microwave, refrigerator, coffee pot, phone, cable TV, and air-conditioning. The location is handy for sights (the Aquarium, the Caves), restaurants, beaches, and bus routes.
