Bermuda’s open spaces give a fascinating opportunity to enjoy outdoor exercise while viewing eye-popping surroundings and wildlife. National parks and nature reserves throughout the island, owned by the Bermuda National Trust (tel. 441/236-6483, www.bnt.bm) and Bermuda Audubon Society (tel. 441/292-1920, www.audubon.bm), offer ocean scenery, woodland, farm tracts, birdlife, insects, and geology. Contact either of these groups for seasonal information on birding tours and other ecotour schedules. Public parks are open from dawn until dusk, and demand no permits or admission fees. Remember to take only pictures, not plant or animal samples. For more information, contact the Parks Department (tel. 441/236-5902).
