Paget is the headquarters for Oleander Cycles (6 Valley Rd., tel. 441/236-5235 or 441/236-2453, fax 441/236-1949, www.oleandercycles.bm, 8:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m. daily), Bermuda’s largest scooter livery, with six other outlets around the island. Standard or deluxe (two-person) scooters can be rented by anyone aged 16 or older; no driver’s license is required, but instructors carry out a mini-tutorial on Valley Road before letting visitors loose on two wheels. Rates ($50 for one day, $212 for seven days, $16 per day after seven days) include delivery and pickup (or hotel pickup), first tank of gas, helmet, lock, and basket, $25 third-party insurance, and islandwide pickup service for breakdowns.

Eve’s Cycle (114 Middle Rd., tel. 441/236-6247, fax 441/236-5464, info [at] evecycles [dot] bm, www.evecycles.bm, open 8 a.m.–5 p.m. daily) offers a complimentary shuttle to and from its shop near the Paget traffic lights (it has another outlet in St. George’s). Rates for automatic double-seat ($45 a day, $193 seven days) and single-seat scooters ($38, $143) include mandatory $15 insurance. Online reservations and special corporate rates are available. Mono Shock 21-speed mountain bikes can also be rented here ($25 per day, $110 for seven days).
