Outstanding Indian fare, equal to the caliber served in London, Toronto, or New York, is the strength of
House of India (Park View Plaza, 57 North St., tel. 441/295-6450, lunch 11 a.m.–2:30 p.m. Mon.–Fri., dinner 5–10 p.m. daily), where a dedicated team of Indian chefs turns out lunch buffets and nightly feasts of tandoori, biryanai, and balti specialties. The award-winning chicken passanda ($15.50), chicken and beef khormas ($14.75), and chicken and lamb tikka masalas ($12.95) are particularly well done. The warm fluffy naan breads in garlic or plain flavors, as well as stuffed kulcha varieties, are to die for. There is also a wide selection of vegetarian dishes. Appetizers include bhajiyas, pakoras, and samosas.
