Nestled between Xujiahui’s 52-story landmark twin towers, the Grand Gateway mall spans six floors. With international brands, a multitude of restaurants, and a multiplex cinema, it’s a retail haven in the center of Shanghai’s commercial hub. Easily accessible by the metro and a short taxi ride from People’s Square, it is one of the city’s most popular malls.
The Grand Gateway complex was completed in 2005 after a long hiatus caused by the Asian Financial Crisis. The twin towers are the 9th tallest buildings in Shanghai and 71st tallest in the world. Being the only tall buildings in the area, they are particularly striking.
