Nong 319 Jiaozhou Lu, near Wuding Lu
COST: Less than ¥100 per night
METRO: Changping Road (Line 7)
A great budget option, this hostel is hidden away down a lane between Jiaozhou and Yanping Roads. Tucked away as it is, its appearance is deceptive—it’s actually one of the largest downtown hostels with several floors of dorms and guest rooms.
It has everything you’d expect from a hostel and more, such as bike rentals, free Internet, a TV lounge, and a reading room. There’s also a great rooftop terrace and café that attracts non-guests when the weather is fine.
Since Expo, hostel prices in Shanghai have tended to rival hotel rates, but Le Tour is an afforable exception.
Le Tour can be tricky to find at first: It’s on the stretch of Jiaozhou Road between Wuding and Xinzha; the lane is marked with a hostel sign.
