The Luga name has become a Mexican empire in Beijing, with the Luga’s Villa and Luga’s Basement bars, and Vietnamese restaurants Luga’s Banh Mi and Luga’s Pho Pho. The bar snacks at the original venue in Sanlitun are widely held as being the best in town, with burritos, tortilla soup, guacamole, and banana chimichangas at the top of the list.
As for drinks, there’s Corona beer, the famous frozen Margaritas, shooters, and other cocktails. The interior’s dark orange walls give a passably authentic Mexican feel. Luga’s is a popular stop on Sanlitun bar crawls thanks to its reasonable prices, outdoor space, and the daily happy hour that runs 4-9 p.m.
