HOURS: Daily 4 p.m.-late

METRO: Andingmen (Line 2)

This tiny bar is hidden down Fangjia Hutong near the Hot Cat Club. El Nido is notable not just for its size, but for its surprisingly thorough selection of imported beers and wines. Imported beers tend to be expensive in Beijing, but El Nido’s owner refuses to give in to ludicrous price markups.

There are only two tables inside, so chances are that you’ll strike up a conversation with your neighbors, as well as the owner, and anyone else who happens to be there. In the warmer months, the outdoor benches are your best bet.
