In the back of a grand, gothic apartment building just north of Johns Hopkins University is, surprisingly, a grand, semi-upscale Indian restaurant, where wait staff in tuxedos and saris watch over a sprawling, stately dining room. Best of all, though, is the back yard, where—during warm months—the restaurant expands onto the green lawn behind the building, and guests sit in large chairs as they dine on tandoori and naan.
It’s still worth a visit here in the winter, as well: There’s a large gas fireplace in the back patio, which makes for a relaxing evening. The lunch buffet is a big hit with locals and is a much less formal event than dinner.
