The Phillips name is synonymous with crabs in Maryland; from a single crab house on the shore, the family has built what is today a veritable mini-empire on the backs of the Chesapeake Bay’s delicious crustaceans. They’ve got a prime location in the Light Street Pavilion in Harborplace, with lots of window tables overlooking the harbor, as well as plentiful outdoor seating during the warmer months.
The friendly servers will help explain how to eat crabs, if you’re a neophyte, but there are plenty of more conventional seafood (and meat, and even vegetarian) options on the menu. This is a big, high-volume place, designed to accommodate lots of tourists, but calling ahead for reservations is strongly encouraged.
