The northwestern corner of Baja California holds two contrasting border towns: At one extreme is metropolitan Tijuana, one of the youngest cities in Mexico, with its upscale dance clubs and trendy restaurants.

Less than 50 miles away, laid back Tecate is the oldest border town in Baja and maintains the feel of an authentic Mexican community.

South along the coast, Rosarito has become a favored weekend getaway for San Diego and Los Angeles residents, except during March and April, when spring breakers from across the western United States come to town.
