On Plaza 9 de Julio, Nouvelle Vitrage (Bolívar and Colón) is best for breakfast, coffee, and snacks, including desserts. Los Pinos (Sarmiento and Buenos Aires, tel. 03752/42-7252) is the place for pizza and cold beer on tap.
For river fish, try the basic takeaway El Doradito (Avenida Corrientes and La Rioja), which has only a couple of sit-down tables amidst the simplest decor.
Posadas’s finest dining is at
Cavas (Bolívar 1729, tel. 03752/43-5514), with a fusion-style menu; most entrées, such as their excellent gnocchi, are in the US$5–8 range. It’s open for lunch and dinner daily except Saturday, when it’s dinner only.
Facing Plaza 9 de Julio, the parrilla La Querencia (Bolívar 1849, tel. 03752/43-7117) is an outstanding backup choice.
Via Chero (San Lorenzo 1808) has good ice cream.
