Prices have risen considerably at Hotel Colonial (Barrufaldi 2419, tel. 03752/43-6149, US$26 s, US$42 d, with a/c and cable TV), a former shoestring favorite that has been upgraded.
The rooms are a little makeshift but the mattresses are firm at friendly Le Petit Hotel (Santiago del Estero 1630, tel. 03752/43-6031, www.hotellepetit.com.ar, US$32 s, US$45 d, with cable TV, telephones, and Wi-Fi). The rates fit the service, though parking is two blocks away.
The utilitarian Hotel Libertador (San Lorenzo 2208, tel. 03752/43-6901, www.libertadorposadas.com.ar, US$36 s, US$58 d, with a/c) has spacious but styleless rooms and responsive personnel.
Near the riverfront, unusual in Posadas, Flor House (Avenida Gobernador Roca 962, tel. 03752/43-8053, www.florhouse.com.ar, US$56 s, US$60 d) is a three-room B&B with a pool, extensive gardens, and other amenities unusual in Posadas.
Overlooking Plaza 9 de Julio, the high-rise Hotel Continental (Bolívar 1879, tel. 03752/44-0990, www.hoteleramisiones.com.ar, US$51–66 s, US$63–82 d) is mostly business-oriented.
The nearby Posadas Hotel (Bolívar 1949, tel. 03752/44-0888, www.hotelposadas.com.ar, US$53–63 s, US$65–72 d) has recast itself as a boutique facility. That’s probably an exaggeration, but it has definitely improved.
The four-star 94-room Hotel Julio César (Entre Ríos 1951, tel. 03752/42-7930, www.juliocesarhotel.com.ar, US$66–75 s, US$79–88 d) is the city’s best. It’s the only one with a pool, gym, and similar executive amenities, as well as more expensive suites.
