Before You Go
Theoretically, Argentina demands no proof of vaccinations, but if you are coming from a tropical country where yellow fever is endemic, authorities could ask for a vaccination certificate.
Traveling to Argentina or elsewhere without adequate medical insurance is risky. Before leaving your home country, obtain medical insurance that includes evacuation in case of serious emergency. Foreign health insurance may not be accepted in Argentina, so you may be required to pay out of your own pocket for later reimbursement. Often, however, private medical providers accept international credit cards in return for services.
Numerous carriers provide medical and evacuation coverage; an extensive list, including Internet links, is available at the U.S. State Department’s website (www.travel.state.gov).
