As with the flora, Argentina’s fauna is largely correlated with latitude and altitude. In the warm northeastern lowlands, for instance, the range of many species overlaps into the South American tropics, while the high altitudes of the Andean northwest have much in common with the high latitudes of the Patagonian steppe.
