Ripley Creek Inn (5th Ave., Stewart, 250/636-2344, www.ripleycreekinn.homestead.com) in [node:92364 link Stewart is the finest local lodging choice, with several dozen guest rooms scattered over five buildings. The three main units (Ripley Creek Inn, Kate Ryan Building, and Crow’s Landing) are C$85–125 d, with large and nicely furnished guest rooms that include Wi-Fi and access to the sauna and exercise room.
The lobby houses Toastworks Museum, an offbeat collection of some 600 antique kitchen appliances. The owners also run Bayview Hotel, with simple but clean rooms (C$50–75 d, no phones).
A comfortable home in the center of Hyder, Kathy’s Korner B&B (250/636-2393, www.theinnkeeper.com/bnb/8841, May–Sept., $90 d) has three guest rooms with shared baths, continental breakfasts, and a large deck. Children are not permitted.
King Edward Hotel/Motel (250/636-9160 or 800/663-3126, www.kingedwardhotel.com, C$69–109 d) also has hotel rooms in Stewart.
In Hyder, Sealaska Inn (250/636-9006 or 888/393-1199, www.sealaskainn.com) has seasonal motel rooms for C$64 s or C$69 d, and hostel-style rooms with a bath down the hall for C$36 s or C$42 d.
