Participation Guidelines

Moon.com wants you to have your say! These Community Participation Guidelines ("Guidelines") describe the proper kinds of conduct and prohibited uses of your Profile and related services (the "Service"). These Guidelines are not exhaustive. We reserve the right to modify these Guidelines at any time, effective upon posting.

By accessing Your Profile and using our Service, you agree to abide by these Guidelines as modified from time to time. Any violation of these Guidelines could result in the suspension or termination of your account or such other action as we deem appropriate. Moon.com may include a variety of features, such as blogs, reviews, and email services allowing feedback to Moon.com and real-time interaction between users and other features allowing users to communicate with others. You are responsible for material that you post on bulletin boards, chat rooms and other public posting areas on the website. Moon.com does not control or routinely review the messages, information or files that others may provide through the website.

Your General Responsibilities

Our Service enables people to share information about themselves, their personal tastes, and their opinions. We cannot and do not verify or guarantee the quality or integrity of information that you may access through the Community portions of Moon.com. You understand that you shall remain solely liable for any and all information, text, images, photographs, graphics, e-mail addresses, Web pages, reviews, discussion board postings, and other materials ("Content") that you upload, download, or transmit to our Service.

Prohibited Content or Activities

Our Service may be used only for lawful purposes. We reserve the right at our sole discretion to restrict or remove any and all uses or Content that we determine harmful to our systems, network, reputation, or goodwill; the reputation or goodwill of our authors; to other Moon.com members; or to any third party. The following non-exhaustive list details the kinds of conduct or Content that is prohibited:

• The upload, download, or transmission of any Content that would violate, or would facilitate the violation of, any applicable law, regulation, or Moon.com rule or policy;
• The upload, download, or transmission of any Content that infringes the intellectual property rights or other proprietary rights of others, including, without limitation, copyright, trademark, patent, or trade secrets;
• The upload, download, or transmission of any Content that is unlawful, libelous, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, indecent, lewd, harassing, threatening, harmful, invasive of privacy or publicity rights, abusive, inflammatory, or otherwise objectionable;
• The upload, download, or transmission of any harmful Content, including, without limitation, viruses, Trojan horses, worms, time bombs, cancelbots, or any other computer programming routines, malicious or otherwise, that may damage, interfere with, surreptitiously intercept, or expropriate any system, program, data, or personal information;
• The use of the Service for commercial purposes such as advertising, promotion, or solicitation
• The impersonation of any person or entity or forging of any e-mail communication or any part of a message

Copyright and Community Content

By posting messages, uploading files, or otherwise providing any material (“Material”) for display on Moon.com, you are representing that you are the owner of the Material, or are making your submission with the consent of the owner of the Material; and that all information you provide is true, accurate, current and complete and does not violate these Terms of Use. In addition, when you post a Material for display on Moon.com, you are granting Perseus a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, non-exclusive, worldwide license, with the right to use, copy, modify, adapt, distribute, or otherwise use your postings in our products as we see fit, including the right to sublicense to others at our discretion. You also give us a license to deal with the postings as necessary to perform technical and administrative functions to operate the community.

You consent to us not attributing authorship to you at all, or only attributing your registered ‘handle’. We generally attribute authorship, but that's not always possible and we decide this on a case by case basis. If we do use your material we may attribute it to your registered ‘handle’, or contact you to request that your real name be used. We will never publish your real name without your express permission.

If you don't want your posting to be used in this way, don't post it. Once you have made a posting, you can't withdraw or retract your license and consents.

Commenting Guidelines

Moon.com welcomes your participation and comments on the blogs. Commenting on the blogs is a free service to facilitate the sharing of ideas and comments relative to the topic of the specific blog.

What to include:

• Your posts should focus on the specific topic blog.
• The best posts include not only whether you liked or disliked an item or topic, but also why. Feel free to mention related items and how this item or topic compares to them.

What not to include:

Moon.com is proud to provide the opportunity for you to air your opinions on the topics and items we feature. While we appreciate your time and comments, we respectfully request that you:

• Not post profanity, obscenities, spiteful remarks or personal attacks on others
• Not post threatening, harassing, defamatory, or libelous material.
• Not post racist, sexist or homophobic comments
• Not intentionally make false or misleading statements.
• Not post personal details or private information about any other person
• Not post under another person's name or ‘handle’ or impersonate another person
• Not post material that infringes copyright.
• Not post information that you know to be confidential or sensitive or otherwise in breach of the law.
• Not post single-word posts. We want to know why you liked or disliked an item or topic.
• Not post solicitations for external websites or contests, or other solicitations
• Moon.com will not accept responsibility for information posted in the Comments

Please note that once you post a comment to Moon.com, it becomes part of the public conversation. Our policy is that we will not remove a user's comments unless we deem them to be in violation of our Terms of Service. Please think twice before posting comments that you may later regret. We cannot remove your comments simply because you have a change of heart.

Relying on information or opinions from Community postings at Moon.com is at your own risk. Use common sense and make your own inquiries first—you should always seek your own advice. Be aware that postings only represent the opinions and experience of users, not ours.

You are responsible for any consequences of your postings and responses to postings. If a dispute arises between users of the community, or between users and a third party, Moon.com is not obliged to get involved, although we may choose to. Moon.com is not responsible if anything goes wrong with your interactions with other users.

However, Moon.com reserves the right to remove comments entirely at its discretion, including for alleged violations of terms of service or legal rights.
