ABOUT THE AUTHOR JOANNE MILLER
Joanne Miller has been on the road since childhood, traveling with her father while he photographed the Grand Canyon and Yellowstone for National Geographic magazine. After visiting all 50 states and acquiring a B.A. in anthropology, she moved to Pennsylvania and was smitten by the beauty of the Keystone State, in every season.
Her love of Pennsylvania's rich history was sorely tried by one night spent in an 18th-century cabin (with requisite colonial conveniences), where she bedded down with an enormous black spider and assorted friendly rodents. She learned that we all can just get along.
Pennsylvania was intended by founding father and Quaker William Penn as a healing place, and it remains so today. The state made Joanne believe in the power of conviction, the desire to preserve a beloved place, and the results that can be obtained by that desire.
Joanne is also the author of Moon Handbooks Chesapeake Bay and Moon Handbooks Maryland & Delaware and has contributed to Eyewitness USA, Writer's Market, and other publications. She is currently at work on a website, Joanne Miller's Discovering America, and a children's book, Grumblins.
