Jason Miller is a writer, avid backpacker, and former whitewater rafting guide. He began writing trail reviews for websites as a way to get free gear, a practice that quickly evolved into larger projects, such as articles for environmental groups and conservation organizations.
Jason currently teaches high school earth and space science while pursuing a degree in Writing Popular Fiction at Seton Hill University. He has just finished his first work of fiction.
More than anyplace else on earth he loves the Appalachians. His experiences have ranged from racing down West Virginia’s Cheat River to watching a bear and her cubs search for a winter den at Ohiopyle State Park. Whether searching for new swimming holes along Ohiopyle’s Meadow Run, dodging rangers in the Allegheny National Forest, or simply trying to find the best post-hike pizza, he knows that he is at home.

Heidi Ruby Miller draws inspiration from the outdoors for both her fiction and nonfiction. An avid hiker and backpacker, Heidi has logged thousands of hours on trails in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Costa Rica, and England. She has written numerous online trail reviews about hiking in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio, Maryland, and Florida for Trails.com. Her articles about Cuba, Mexico, and Costa Rica have appeared on GoNOMAD.com and in the ezine Write On Maui.
Her education reflects her love of travel, with degrees in geography, anthropology, and world languages. Heidi is currently a graduate student at Seton Hill University in the Writing Popular Fiction master’s program. When she isn’t writing or hiking, Heidi is probably doing yoga, reading science fiction, or playing video games.

Heidi and Jason live in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, in the foothills of the Laurel Highlands.
