ABOUT THE AUTHOR DON ROOT

Don Root has hauled sandbags, directed traffic, pumped gas, and transported body parts. He's been a ski bum, paralegal, and rock 'n' roll drummer; edited a rural weekly and published an underground monthly; and studied music, journalism, art, and law. Somewhere in there he's managed to fritter away untold years backpacking and rock climbing throughout the American West. When not sounding his barbaric yawps off Idaho's highest peaks, he often can be found in Chico, California.
