Zoo Tunes Concert Series at Woodland Park Zoo
The Puget Sound region is chock full of great outdoor concert venues. With summer fast approaching, now is the time to start thinking about picking up tickets for a show. One of the most unique venues in town is the stage at Woodland Park Zoo, home of the Zoo Tunes concert series. This summer series is popular for its unique setting, affordable tickets (most shows under $25), and laid-back atmosphere. Held midweek or on Sundays, the shows are quite family friendly. Doors open at 5 p.m. and shows start at 6 p.m., so you’ll have plenty of time to enjoy the music and put the kiddies to bed at a reasonable hour.
Zoo Tunes is also is a great excuse for a picnic—you’re allowed to bring in blankets and food, just no outside alcohol. If you don’t want to carry in there’s also food inside, plus a beer garden for the 21-and-up crowd.
This year Woodland Park will hold a dozen concerts, starting next month. Zoo Tunes’ loyal following has already snapped up tickets for two sold out shows, so if you’re planning on going don’t wait until the last minute or you may miss out.
