Spokane Hoopfest Registration Closes Soon
Basketball fans with a penchant for street ball better put a full-court press on their registration for Spokane Hoopfest if they want to participate in the 20th anniversary run of this b-ball bash.
Known as one of the biggest 3 v. 3 street hoops tourneys in the world, Hoopfest will take over downtown Spokane on June 27 and 28. Spread out over 40 city blocks with approximately 400 basketball courts, the sports festival draws more than 6,400 teams composed of every type of baller, from driveway schlubs to elite athletes, to participate in a variety of competitive brackets. If you want to participate time is of the essence as registration closes on May 4.
Even if you don’t plan on playing, Hoopfest is a fun event to watch and provides good excuse to bask in the Spokane sunshine during the dog days of summer. Though Hoopfest pretty much monopolizes activity in the heart of downtown Spokane, visitors can easily attend the event and then escape the crowds at nearby attractions such as Riverside State Park or Manito Park.
