Last Minute Spa Gift for Mom
OK, my procrastinating chums. I won’t make anyone incriminate themselves with a hand raise, but I betcha there are a few of you who haven’t yet purchased Mom a gift. The flowers and candy are probably all picked over at the grocery store and, besides, that’s so overplayed. I’ve got a way better idea; one which will have her raving for a long time. Why not buy her a day at the spa? Washington state has some very nice day spas and spa resorts out there just perfect for pampering you’re favorite parental unit.
Here are a few last minute spa specials that can save your bacon. Print out the gift certificate, pop it in a card or e-mail, and voilà, you’re out of the doghouse.
Salish Lodge Spa
Set atop the cliff overlooking Snoqualmie Falls, the Salish Lodge Spa is one of Western Washington’s best, with a bevy of facility amenities: a hydrotherapy mineral spa, steam room and a dry sauna. The spa is currently offering a unique Rain Drop Therapy for $115. The massage practitioner will drip mom with aromatherapy essential oils and then give her a gentle massage for close to an hour.
Carson Hot Spring Resort
Okay, so this particular resort doesn’t have gift cards available for purchase online. But it is such a Washington institution that I had to include it anyway. Buy your mom a treatment in advance and then make mom a card with macaroni or something. Carson Hot Spring Resort is well known for its spring fed mineral baths and wraps. You can pick up a midweek Spring Getaway package for mom and you for $200, which includes a one night stay, plus two mineral baths and wraps and two one-hour massages. The hotel isn’t the Ritz, but the treatments are divine.
Spa Paradiso
Voted one of the best spas in the Inland Northwest year after year, Spa Paradiso is nestled in the basement of Spokane’s Davenport hotel. Penny pinchers can purchase an affordable $125 Harmony package that includes a Tahitian Tropics Pedicure, plus a Head, Neck, & Shoulder Massage. She can finish treatment off with a stop in the steam room and the relaxing Serenity Room, which boasts a fireplace, snacks and cucumber water.
