Disney Parks Raising Admission Prices

Magic KingdomExperiencing the magic of Disneyland or Walt Disney World’s theme parks will require a little more cash beginning Thursday, August 5.

The price changes were announced Tuesday on the Disney Parks blog.

I know several families who have been planning (and budgeting) for family vacations to Disneyland and Walt Disney World later this month before sending the kids back to school, and the price increases will definitely pinch an already tight budget for a family of five spending three days at one of the resorts.

Disneyland Resort, California

The cost for a one-day, one-park ticket for ages 10 and up will rise from $72 to $76 and from $62 to $68 for ages 3 to 9, and prices for a one-day park-hopper ticket increase by $4 for both age groups to $101 and $91, respectively. Parking prices will also increase by $1 from $14 to $15 a day.

Walt Disney World Resort, Florida

The base price for a one-day, one-park ticket increases from $79 to $82 and tickets for children ages 3 to 9 increase from $68 to $72. The one-day park-hopper add-on price increases by $2 from $52 to $54.

Price increases will also apply to multi-day passes, multi-day park-hopper, and annual passes at both parks. For a complete list of new pricing at the resorts, visit the Facts on Disneyland Prices page and the Facts on Walt Disney World Prices page.

Tickets purchased prior to the price increases will be honored through January 3, 2011.
