Discovery Channel's Man Vs. Wild to feature Guatemala
This week Bear Grylls, of the popular Discovery Channel TV show Man Vs. Wild, visits Guatemala, where he rappels onto an active volcano, circumvents a waterfall and ventures to ancient Mayan ruins. In each episode of Man vs. Wild, Bear strands himself in popular wilderness destinations where tourists may often find themselves lost or in danger. He demonstrates survival techniques while trying to find his way back to civilization. Past episodes have included surviving sharks off the coast of Hawaii, escaping quicksand in the Moab Desert, navigating dangerous jungle rivers in Costa Rica, and crossing ravines in the Alps. Grylls is a seasoned adventurer who served with the Special Air Service, a special forces unit of the British army, where he was trained as a survival expert.
So, tune in this week. You never know if your next outdoor Guatemala adventure might put you in harm's way. It's good to know what you're getting into and how to get out of it, if need be. The show airs this Wednesday January 27 at 9 p.m. ET on Discovery Channel. You can view a trailer here.
